Radical socialist Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is calling upon the United Nations to take over control of the United States’ borders.
“We should do what any other country does, by dealing with this situation in a serious way,” Omar told a Minneapolis town hall meeting on immigration, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. “So we have to bring in the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees – an agency that has the expertise and the training to handle massive flows of refugees humanely.”
“The event, which included a panel discussion featuring immigration advocates and experts, drew a small and largely supportive crowd,” the Star Tribune reports.
“I think people are more fearful of coming to events, of being in the world, than they were before Trump was elected,” one town hall attendee, Minneapolis resident Tom Lonergan, said.
Last month U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, the socialist former president of Chile, praised Omar and her three fellow “Squad” members.
“I believe that those four women are fantastic,” said Bachelet, before warning Americans to treat Omar “in a respectful way.”
In addition to calling on the U.N. to take over America’s borders, Omar has called for the complete elimination of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“ICE is militarized, brutal, and unaccountable. Immigration policy should be based in compassion. ICE is not the solution, we need to abolish ICE,” Omar tweeted in July 2018.
